My nephew was my inspiration to begin this quilting journey. He passed away from a motorcycle accident in 2020 and when we were going through his things, we found a quilt that belonged to my mother, his grandmother. He'd taken it from her room after she passed away and kept it for years. It was frayed and tattered because he slept with it every night. It was something tangible he carried from home to home to remind him of his first home, with his grandma. I wanted to create something like that give to my grandchildren, so I taught myself to quilt. Thank you, sweet boy, for giving me something to help me get through.

I'm also a real estate broker in California and Nevada. My beautiful daughter, her fearless husband and my four amazing grandchildren live in Texas. I also have the sweetest dog, Buddy the Corgi, who lays under my sewing machine every day!

Buddy the Corgi is my mascot and sewing companion. He keeps me jumping and makes me laugh every day. He keeps his toys in my sewing room and can usually be found asleep on his back, with four feet sticking up in the air!
